Upfold
A Foldable System for Children’s Open-Ended Play
Project Description
UpFold is a foldable play system that transforms a flat mat into three-dimensional structures for children’s open-ended play. It addresses the lack of flexible, imaginative toys that can adapt to different play scenarios. Using Upfold's modular geometric panels, soft–rigid layering, and simple fastening connections, children can easily build forms like houses, tents, or chairs and redefine them through play. The system encourages creativity, collaboration, and storytelling, while remaining easy to store and safe to use. It supports both structured building and spontaneous play in everyday home environments.
