Stridthym: Rhythm To Recovery
Enhancing Elderly Rehabilitation Through Music-Integrated Design
Project Description
Stridthym – Rhythm to Recovery is an assistive medical design device that integrates physical therapy with rhythmic music therapy to support at-home rehabilitation for elderly users with mobility and balance challenges. It addresses the lack of motivation and fatigue caused by traditional rehabilitation tools, which can slow recovery progress. The system uses rhythmic cues, melodic interaction, and ergonomic design to guide movement, improve coordination, and encourage consistent practice. By combining auditory feedback with physical motion, it enhances motor recovery, cognitive stimulation, emotional comfort, and overall well-being, making rehabilitation more engaging, human-centered, and motivating.
